1923  Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, South America.  Son of
 William Knox Martin (aviator, painter, poet), the first man to fly over the Andes.

1946  - 1950  Studied at  The Art Students League of New York.

Taught at Yale Graduate School of the Arts, first as visiting critic in art, and then as Professor of Art.

Taught at New York University.  Named to "Who's Who in America."

Taught at the University of Minnesota.

Taught at the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy.

Presently gives master classes at the Art Students League of New York.
